There was a lot of figure buzz coming out of New York ComicCon reccently, but one of the things that excited me was this Death statue, due out in February 2013 from DC Collectibles. Jack Matthews has brought us another spot-on DC female sculpt it seems, and Sandman fans have something new to salivate over at long last!

The Cover Girls of the DC Universe line has now expanded to Vertigo, and picked the best girl to start with in my opinion. It would be great to see other 12 inch Endless statues join Death, but surely this is the most marketable female of the bunch. What other girls of Vertigo would you like to see in the Cover Girls line? I hope whoever they are, Jack Matthews sculpts them because he captures each character so well (like the Harley Quinn Arkham City statue we covered earlier). I love that she comes with her umbrella, though I might have to find a volleyball and a top hat to set next to her base.

I think this is quite a fitting tribute to Mike Dringenberg’s creation, though her face looks a bit more like Chris Bachalo’s style to me. I’m definitely picking this up in February, being a Sandman mega-fan. How about you?
