For edgy manga fans of the late 80s and early 90s, little was cooler than the heavy metal-tinged fantasy Bastard!! Many loyal fans of the series have hung on for over 20 years now as the manga still trickles out, and merchandise is quickly snapped up. Orchid Seed understands these needs and has brought us a fantastic version of half-dark elf Thunder Empress Arshes Nei who has her curves in all the right places, thanks to veteran sculptor Ishiyama Satoshi.
Once again I end up with a DC Collectibles statue that doesn't quite live up to expectations. The good news is this one is destined for a repaint very soon, so hopefully she'll look better!

I don't usually cover a lot of moe figures here, but when mega-popular illustrator
It's Halloween week and we've been busy gathering treats! Here's a look at what's new that's come across our desks from various preorders and toy shows lately. Look forward to reviews of some of these awesome figures very soon! More exciting stuff after the jump!
Max Factory is bring us this tube of wonderful in March 2013 and as hard as I try I cannot resist Aoba, despite his high price tag! At 1/7 scale and about 28 cm, his retail price of 14,800 yen isn't exactly surprising given his detail but it's enough to crush most figure budgets! With the Japanese yen to US Dollar rate being as terrible as it is currently, figure fans on a budget sure have a lot of temptations being thrown at them! I've been able to be pretty strong lately and only cave on a few things, but one of my big weaknesses is the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series. With Persona 4 being remade, a hit anime series and a Persona fighting game coming out there is a huge amount of things to choose from as seemingly every merch company tries to get a piece of my very limited figure budget. Today, Megahouse and Bandai are the winner with High Priestess Yukiko Amagi and her summoned Persona Konohana Sakuya. Lots more pictures after the jump!
It's been a busy couple months of figure buying at my local comic shop with all the great stuff coming out lately! I completely fell for this Barbara Gordon Batgirl bust when I first saw the
Sideshow collectibles aren't always my favourite producers but when they get something right, it's fantastic. That seems to be the case with their upcoming giant 1/4 scale Green Lantern statue, due out in April 2013. That should give you a little time to save your pennies as this figure will set you back a cool $350, but for the mega Green Lantern fan it might be a worthwhile centerpiece of a collection.
DC has been quite busy with the statue releases since announcing their new DC Collectibles line, and a line of Arkham City statues was inevitable with how popular the action figures have been. So it should be a surprise to no one that they just announced a Harley Quinn to be released in January 2013. What is a surprise is how appealing she is compared to the action figure releases!
